Academic Kit – ‘Get-them-in-school Initiative’

Providing children with the tools they need to stay in school and succeed

In Nigeria today, over 18.3 million children are out of school, the highest number in the world. Behind this staggering figure are children who have never had the chance to sit in a classroom, hold a notebook, or dream of a different future. For many families, the barriers are not a lack of willingness but the harsh realities of poverty, distance, and limited access to basic learning resources.

Our Get-them-in-school Initiative is designed to break these barriers and rewrite the story of education for countless children. Built on a simple but powerful three-layer model, the initiative starts with

  1. Release for School: we go into underserved communities, door to door, encouraging parents and guardians to see the life-changing value of education.
  2. Take to School – ensures that the journey to learning is possible—While we plan to solve the problem of long distances by advocating for the creation of more schools particularly in rural areas, to solve the short term problem we are arranging school buses that pick children up from designated points, sparing them long and unsafe treks.
  3. Keep at School –  makes sure they don’t drop out by providing an Academic Kit filled with essentials such as notebooks, pens, crayons, socks, shoes, and uniforms, everything a child needs to learn with dignity and confidence.

Through this holistic approach, we are not just enrolling children in schools—we are keeping them there, nurturing their potential, and giving them the tools to create brighter futures for themselves and their communities. Every kit, every bus ride, every visit is an investment in breaking the cycle of illiteracy and building a generation that believes education is their right, not a privilege.
